Health data is governed by a complex system of laws and regulations. This service aims to make it easier for organisations to get an overview of the rule systems that affect their particular activities, and to better understand how everything fits together.
The term rule system refers to the regulatory framework itself, such as legislation, co-operation agreements and rules within the regions, as well as the actors involved, such as healthcare providers or supervisory authorities.
In concrete terms, the service involves an interview about the regulations that affect the organisation, including problematic aspects. Based on the interview, the interviewer creates a visual model (map) of the rule system, which is later presented to the interviewees.
The service is provided by the Department of Computer and Systems Science at Stockholm University. The results from the interviews will also be used for a PhD project that aims to develop a visual modelling language to make complex rule systems more transparent and understandable.
